English as a New Language (ENL)
OVERVIEW
The Department of English as a New Language (ENL) at Greenburgh Central supports students who are learning English as an additional language. Our K–12 program for Multilingual Learners (MLLs) provides inclusive, content-rich instruction aligned with New York State Next Generation Learning Standards and the International Baccalaureate framework.
Students in ENL are supported as they:
- Develop social and academic English
- Navigate new cultural and educational environments
- Master grade-level academic content
This is achieved through collaboration among families, teachers, and school communities, ensuring that each learner receives personalized support to succeed.
