Innovation can be found where different subjects intersect, and that cross-disciplinary learning better equips our students to be engaged and thoughtful contributors to the global community. By including the “A for arts” with STEM subjects, we can be sure that a child’s creativity is nurtured and remains part of the learning equation, alongside valuable analytical and critical thinking skills.
STEAM education encourages students to:
+ Be intellectually curious+ Be problem solvers
+ Be innovators
+ Be bold and creative
+ Be observantThe skills a student gains from a STEAM education are transferrable across not only subjects but career paths. This is especially pertinent at a time when the US Department of Education reports that the number of STEM/STEAM jobs in the United States will continue to grow faster than the national average for jobs across all sectors into the year 2020!
