Dr. Iverson continues Listening and Learning Tour with our Students
Students in all grades at Woodlands High School were asked to participate in a session with Superintendent Dr. Iverson today, giving her the opportunity to tell them why their input is so important to the future of the district. After a brief introduction in which Dr. Iverson spoke of her belief in and commitment to public education and her journey to superintendent, she told students that she actively sought her job in Greenburgh.
“I studied this district; I was on your website learning everything I could - and I was impressed,” said Dr. Iverson. “When you have the job of Superintendent it’s just as much about being the right fit as having the right skills, and I believed I was the right fit for Greenburgh.
“Now, I am so grateful to be here and feel like I am living my best life,” she continued.
Each of the four sessions, one with each grade, lasted approximately 30 minutes. Dr. Iverson introduced some members of her team, including Dr. Christopher Macalulso, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction and Lisa Raymond, Assistant Superintendent for Business. The spoke about the upcoming Strategic Plan, as well as the 5-year facilities plan. Students were able to ask questions of Dr. Iverson and the other administrators which hit upon topics ranging from facilities improvements to the buildings and sports fields to the future of honor programs at the HS to what (her) priorities are for the next year or two.
Students are highly encouraged to complete the survey that can easily be accessed through their chromebooks.
