Find out how you can volunteer to help Seniors earn the NYSSB for the first time ever!

Dear GCSD Community, The New York State Seal of Biliteracy* (NYSSB) is awarded to high school graduates who have demonstrated a high level of proficiency in English and at least one other world language.

For 2023, the Greenburgh Central School District is offering Seniors the opportunity to earn the NYSSB, with 30 of our students challenging in 7 different languages!

On April 27, from 8 a.m. to 12 Noon, Students will be evaluated on their panel presentations/final projects, in a science fair-like setting, during which they are required to converse fluently about a chosen topic with other fluent speakers.

However, we need your help! If you are conversationally fluent in Spanish, Mandarin, Portuguese, French, Korean, German, and/or Haitian Creole and would like to assist in interviewing students and rating their performance, please fill out the form at https://forms.gle/cqePCNBi5UEgrjn38. If selected to volunteer, you will receive support and training on conducting interviews/evaluations and completing the required rubric**.

We will be recruiting volunteers until March 17, 2023. Thank you for your consideration.

For additional information or questions, please contact Catherine Addor at caddor@greenburghcsd.org
