The Greenburgh Central School District extends its condolences to the family of Judith Johnson
The Greenburgh Central School District extends its condolences to the family of Judith Johnson, a member of the NY State Board of Regents and an educational pioneer. A joint statement from Regents Chancellor Betty A. Rosa, Vice Chancellor T. Andrew Brown and Interim State Education Commissioner Beth Berlin called Ms. Johnson a visionary, pioneer and true educational leader.
Ms. Johnson spent time in Greenburgh two years ago, meeting with the administration, touring the Early Childhood Program and learning about the STEAM program. But mostly, she spent time engaging students about their experiences in order to take information back to the Commissioner.
Ms. Johnson also served as the superintendent of the Mount Vernon district during Dr. Chase's tenure there. She remembers her with great fondness, saying, "Judith Johnson was a fantastic leader who inspired many people and had a direct impact on the state of education in our area. I learned a great deal from her and am honored to have worked with her." https://www.lohud.com/…/judith-johnson-prominen…/4061906002/
