Summer Time = Fun Time! GCSD Kicks off the Season With Night of Summer Fun Event

Over 300 students, families, and staff from across the Greenburgh Central School District came together at Woodlands Middle High School for the third annual Night of Summer Fun—an evening filled with games, crafts, laughter, and community spirit.

The event featured a lively mix of new and returning activities. This year’s newcomers included beach ball decorating, scratch art, bracelet making, and classic lawn games like Twister, cornhole, checkers, tic-tac-toe, and giant Jenga. Popular favorites like journal decorating, the marshmallow challenge, lemonade stand, temporary tattoos, dress-up photo station, and kickball kept crowds coming back for more.

Local partners helped make the event even more special. The Greenburgh Public Library, PTA Council, Woodlands Booster Club, and the GCSD Wellness Committee all hosted tables, offering resources and engaging with families throughout the evening.

Adorable moments were captured in front of the district’s signature GCSD step-and-repeat photo backdrop, as students and staff posed in costume and celebrated the close of another successful school year.

The event was planned by Lori D'Andrea, Kelly Gillan, and Mike McCoy. Reflecting on the evening, Ms. D’Andrea shared: “Bringing over 300 teachers, staff, and families from all our schools together to celebrate a successful year and the summer months ahead was truly amazing. It was a wonderful reflection of the strength of our GCSD community.”

From lemonade to kickball, the Night of Summer Fun once again lived up to its name—celebrating the joy of summer and the bonds that make the Greenburgh CSD community so special.
