Woodlands Middle High School celebrated hundreds of honor society inductions across 10 different honor societies during its 2026 Honor Society Induction Ceremony on May 19, recognizing student achievement, leadership, service, and academic excellence across a wide range of disciplines.
The ceremony opened with the Pledge of Allegiance recited in English, Mandarin, and Spanish, a meaningful reflection of Greenburgh Central School’s diverse and internationally focused International Baccalaureate community.
Students were inducted into the National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, National Mandarin Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society.
The National Honor Society inducted 21 students under the guidance of advisor Dr. J. Foy II, while the National Junior Honor Society welcomed 25 new members with advisors Ms. K. Blenk and Ms. K. Peralta.
Academic achievement in mathematics, science, and the humanities was also recognized throughout the evening. Mu Alpha Theta inducted 17 students with advisor Ms. D. Carroll, the Science National Honor Society inducted 19 students under advisor Mr. T. Tokarski, the National English Honor Society inducted 47 students with advisors Ms. K. Rella and Mr. S. Rounds, and the Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society inducted 55 students under advisor Ms. C. Vasilevsky.
Students were additionally recognized for excellence in world languages and the arts. The Spanish National Honor Society inducted 18 students under advisor Ms. M. Gorman, while the National Mandarin Honor Society inducted six students with advisor Dr. H. Yang. The National Art Honor Society inducted 35 students under advisor Ms. J. Newbey, and the Tri-M Music Honor Society inducted 20 students with advisors Ms. H. Johnson and Mr. B. Kennedy.
Throughout the evening, students were recognized not only for academic achievement, but also for embodying the qualities of scholarship, character, leadership, service, creativity, and citizenship that define each honor society.
