ECP’s Littlest Scholars Celebrate Moving Up Day

They’ve learned their ABCs and 123s, and Greenburgh Central School District’s youngest learners were more than ready to share their success with families and the school community.

With caps, sashes, proud families, and plenty of smiles filling the Woodlands Middle High School auditorium, GCSD’s Early Childhood Program celebrated Moving Up Day for the Pre-K Class of 2026 on June 24.

The joyful ceremony marked an important milestone for the district’s youngest learners as students took the stage dressed in their graduation best to celebrate all they have learned and accomplished this year. Throughout the program, students delighted families and staff with performances of “On My Way,” “Wo Ai Jiaren,” “Count With Me From 1-20,” “Gracie Corner ABC,” “Golden,” and “2 Little Words.”

Superintendent Dr. Lorenda Chisolm welcomed students, families, and staff to the celebration and thanked them for their support of the children, the school, and the district throughout the year. “We are excited to acknowledge our littlest scholars and see their showcase, a culmination of everything they’ve been learning this year,” Dr. Chisolm said. Looking ahead, she also shared her excitement about the students’ growth and potential. “I look forward to welcoming our new kindergarteners in September as members of the Class of 2040.”

The ceremony and student performances reflected the dedication of the Early Childhood Program faculty and staff, whose care and support help guide students through a year of learning, friendship, and discovery. From joyful musical performances to the proud moments shared with loved ones, the celebration highlighted the strong sense of community that defines Greenburgh Central.

After the performances, students and their families celebrated with ECP teachers and staff, ending the year in a way that reflects the heart of GCSD: community, connection, and pride in every student’s accomplishments.

Moving Up Day was a joyful and memorable sendoff for the district’s youngest Falcons as they prepare for the next chapter in their learning journey.
