Greenburgh's commitment to educational innovation and instructional excellence was on display this week as district leaders participated in one of New York's premier professional learning events.
At the Deeper Learning New York (DLNY26) Conference at Ulster BOCES, Greenburgh Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, Programs & Personnel Dr. Ogechi Iwuoha Njoku, along with several GCSD administrators and educators, shared their expertise with education leaders from across the state.
Dr. Njoku delivered a featured Ignite Talk on the role of leadership in creating the conditions for meaningful school improvement. Her central message emphasized that effective leadership is not about having all the right answers but about creating the conditions for others to succeed. Greenburgh CSD was also represented through a collaborative Deep Dive session presented by Susana Berkowitz-Torres, Christina Cannon, Lori D'Andrea, Nadim Farooqi, Joanna Khan and Dr. Njoku. Their session, Productive Student Discourse: Leading for Thinking in an AI World, explored how Greenburgh is building systems that foster rich student discourse and meaningful engagement in an AI-enabled world. The discussion was further enriched by internationally recognized thought leader Kim Marshall, who joined participants in the conversation.
Through Dr. Njoku's featured presentation and the collaborative Deep Dive session, GCSD leaders demonstrated their ongoing commitment to advancing deeper learning while contributing to important conversations shaping the future of education.
